NAD Frequently Asked Questions
------------------------------
Q. XXXPlayer has recently announced that it supports 'Continous Playback'...
A. So?? NAD has supported continuous playback since it was a command prompt
program. Infact the continuous playback in NAD is probably the most advanced
there is. So all you mp3player coders out there... Its nothing new... Been
there, got the T-Shirt....
Q. Why Does NAD Sound Better than 'Other' MPx Players.
Q. Why does NAD Run So Fast?
A. Nad sounds better because it is not based on the IIS Layer 3 implementation.
Because I have programmed every line of the decoding engine myself, I had the
opportiunity to make sure the audio quality was the highest possible at the same
time I was able to make sure the routines were as optimized as possible.
Q. Why doesn't nad have Task Priority selectors?
A. In the general preferences section of nad, there is the ability to set your
computers CPU type, This switches nad to use routines especially optimized for
that particular processor. It also allows nad to dynamically boost its task
priority if it detects its running too slowly. In other words, you dont need to
set the task priority, nad will do it itself...
Q. Is NAD FREE?
A. Yes, to Non-Commercial users. Commercial users must buy a per-user licence, or
to distribute nad with your package, a re-distribution licence, which also provides
you with a custom version of nad that suits your needs.
Q. Can you add some built-in visualisation?
A. I suppose so... is a Oscilliscope and a Spectrum Analyser ok? (it'd better be)
Q. Can you make nad support .M3U files
A. Ok, its done.
Q. Can I design your web-site?
A. No. You might think the web-site is 'basic' but thats how I like it. The truth
is Java, JavaScript, Tables, Animated Gifs etc. etc. etc. Annoy me a LOT I dont want
to have to spend 5minuites downloading a web-page, and I like to pass that on to
NAD users.
Q. Do you have anything to do with the NAD electronics company who make my amp/
tapedeck/cdplayer/etc
A. No, I have nothing at all to do with NAD Electronics....
Q. Why dont the Graphic EQ Sliders have labels?
A. I couldn't be bothered to add them.
Q. How do you make those cool see thru bits in nad?
A. We have little people who use VERY small scissors and they cut the window to shape
EVERY time you run it! (honest)
Q. Can I have the source code to nad?
A. No
Q. Can I have the source code to nad, pretty please (I wont give it out)?
A. No, no, no, no, never ever in a million years......
Q. Nad Rocked my Nads!
A. See a doctor....
Q. Whats does 'nad' stand for?
A. Never Ask Dummy!
A. New And Delicious (player)
A. NO Ask DiscoDog!
